The place needs to be cleaned up after another year of everyone living (it up) here.

Here's the list:

Let's start with The Shed - It's a disaster. There's probably 150 years worth of leftover lofts, dried paint and maybe even some Civil War relics in there. Let's pull everything out. Sell the Civil War stuff on ebay and get rid of as much as we can. So we can put more stuff in there ...

Moving on to the Stained Glass Studio (aka the library). We have some newer stuff in there that we can put in the shed. Then we can make some slot in the shelves for glass panels and add some work space for glass cutting, grinding wheels and soldering stations. And the lights. We have to do something about the lights in there ...

While we're inside, maybe it's time to fix the office that got flooded when our roof failed? We've got a plan where we take down what's left of the old ceiling tiles, add recessed lighting and apply a textured coat to the suspended ceiling. While we're at it, let's do something about that wallpaper in there. I think we can make that room look really nice again.

Other "inside" stuff that needs to happen: the usual cleaning, dusting, window washing, vacuuming and toilet cleaning.

Once all that's done we can refinish the second floor tiles.

Meanwhile, there is the yard (grass, flower beds, weeds, overgrown ivy and bushes, etc.), some painting in the Co-op, and the usual re-organizing of the basement and kitchen.

I think we can get it all done in a week and I'm thinking it would be a good idea to do it between July 30 and August 6. (I hear it's going to be a lot cooler that week.)

Are there a few hours, or even a day or two you'd be able to help out?

Let us know!

(back to Facebook)

Friday, August 20 at 6 pm: Worship team call-out, pizza dinner and band rehearsal.
For vocalists and other musicians, artists (of all kinds), and the "behind the scenes" type of people who enjoy helping things work and look right.

Friday, August 20 at 8 pm - Game Night at The Found. This week we will look at dealing with our need for community.

Worship
we will gather for worship at the Found on Sunday at 10 am, upstairs in the sanctuary. Dress is comfortable. There is singing, sharing and prayer, time looking at scripture and fellowship. This will be Shawn's last Sunday for the semester. David Jones, our interim pastor, will be here to take part in the service.

Renovation Groups: Join a small group of students with whom you can work on growing spiritually. This is a student led group that meets weekly to focus on supporting one another through sharing and prayer, learning how to grow in our relationship with God and trying out spiritual practices. If you are interested contact Emily at eldawes@purdue.edu and let her know what nights you are available (M, Tu, W). Groups are now forming.

Hunger Hike!
September 21st we will be participating, along with Federated Church, in the Hunger Hike. The Hunger Hike will raise money for Lafayette Urban Ministry, Food Finders, and St. Tom's Haiti Project. We will be meeting here at the Found at 12:45 to go over Riele Plaza. The hike will start at 2. If you have any questions or would like to participate, please contact Hannah at hecripe@purdue.edu. This year,
the spring break mission trip will be an urban mission experience in Los Angeles. If you are interested in learning about or organizing these and other
mission and service projects, consider joining the Missions & Service Committee at the Found. Contact Hannah at hecripe@purdue.edu or Megan at
mposey@purdue.edu if you are interested.

Spring Break Mission Trip Fundraising Opportunity:
A woman in the community would like some college students to help move things out of her house. She needs storage items in her basement packed into a
vehicle. Moving would take place Friday afternoon and would only take 2-3 hours. In return, she will donate money to the Found mission trip. If you are
at all interested in participating in this year's spring break mission trip (to L.A.), it is strongly encouraged that you take advantage of these
opportunities. Well guess what, spiritual growth happens. It happens in the shower, it happens when we eat and shop and study. It happens when we pray. And it even happens when we don't. It happens. And when it does, it will either be something that is good and helpful to you, your friends, your family, your community, and even your world... or it won't. The choice is yours.

Mondays at 7:30pm - A new Spiritual Growth group. You know, the stuff we keep inside. Some of it is small stuff, some is really big. How long should we keep it to ourselves? What happens if we actually deal with it? Can we make it worse? What happens if we don't? And if we don't deal with it, well, it's not going to just go away...
Rob Bell asks in the NOOMA video Lump, "Do you have people around you that could never do anything to make you love them less?" The dinner (potluck) and program begins at 7:30 and the actual Awards ceremony starts at 8:30. Name your potluck dish in honor of an Oscar nominee, come dressed like a Star, and pick the Oscar winners.
